Frequently Asked Questions
What identification do I need to bring?
Please bring a current government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport. If you do not have one, contact Waypoint before your appointment to discuss other acceptable identification options.
Do all signers need to be present?
Each person whose signature is being notarized must personally appear before the notary. If more than one signer needs notarization, make sure all required signers are available for the appointment.
How will I know what my appointment will cost?
Your total price will be confirmed before the appointment is finalized. It may include the mobile service fee, applicable New York State notarial fees, travel charges, and any pass-through costs that apply.
What if my appointment takes longer than 30 minutes?
Most standard notarization appointments can be completed within the 30 minutes included in the mobile service fee. Appointments involving multiple documents, multiple signers, estate document packages, or other circumstances may require additional time.
When possible, Waypoint will estimate the expected appointment length and any additional fee in advance. Additional appointment time is $15 per 15 minutes or portion thereof.
Can I request an appointment by phone, text, or email?
Yes. Appointments can be requested online, by phone, text, or email. Use whichever method is most convenient for you.
What happens after I request an appointment?
Your request will be reviewed based on the appointment details, location, and availability. You’ll receive confirmation once the appointment is approved, along with any information you need before the visit, using your preferred method of communication.
