Appointment, Cancellation & Service Policy
Appointment Requests & Confirmation
Submitting an appointment request does not guarantee or confirm an appointment. Waypoint Mobile Notary will review the requested date, time, location, and service details before confirming availability.
Once approved, the client will receive confirmation with the appointment details and applicable fees.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
Clients may cancel or reschedule an appointment before travel begins without a cancellation fee in most circumstances.
If travel has already begun, applicable mobile service, travel, parking, toll, or other pass-through costs may apply.
Waypoint Mobile Notary may waive applicable fees when circumstances are outside the client’s control.
No-Shows & Unavailable Signers
If the notary has already traveled to the appointment and the signer is unavailable, does not appear, provides an incorrect location, or the appointment cannot proceed for reasons within the client’s control, applicable mobile service, travel, parking, toll, or other related costs may apply.
Waypoint Mobile Notary may require prepayment before accepting a future appointment following a no-show.
Identification & Signer Readiness
Signers must have satisfactory identification available at the appointment. A current or otherwise acceptable government-issued photo ID is typically used to establish identity.
The signer must personally appear before the notary and be willing and able to communicate directly with the notary.
If satisfactory identity cannot be established, the notarization cannot proceed.
Document Readiness
Clients are responsible for having the correct document available and ready for notarization. Waypoint Mobile Notary reviews documents only as necessary to perform the requested notarial act and does not review the legal content, accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of the document.
If a document is incomplete, missing required pages, or does not contain the necessary notarial certificate and the signer cannot identify the appropriate notarial act, the notarization may need to be delayed or declined until the issue is resolved.
Waypoint Mobile Notary cannot choose a notarial act for the signer or provide legal advice.
Witnesses
Clients are responsible for confirming whether witnesses are required for their document and, unless otherwise arranged in advance, for providing any required witnesses.
Waypoint Mobile Notary does not determine whether a document requires witnesses and cannot provide legal advice regarding witness requirements.
If required witnesses are not available at the appointment, the notarization may need to be delayed or rescheduled.
Unable to Complete the Notarization
Waypoint Mobile Notary may decline or stop a notarization when the legal requirements for the notarial act are not met, the signer cannot be satisfactorily identified, the signer appears unwilling or unable to proceed, the document is not suitable for notarization, or the notary cannot complete the act properly and impartially.
If the appointment cannot be completed for reasons within the client’s control after travel has begun or after the notary has arrived, applicable mobile service, travel, parking, toll, or other related costs may apply.
If the issue can be corrected, the client may schedule a new appointment once the requirements are met.
Third-Party Acceptance
Waypoint Mobile Notary does not guarantee that a notarized document will be accepted by a court, government agency, financial institution, title company, recorder, or other receiving party.
Clients are responsible for confirming any document-specific requirements with the organization requesting or receiving the document.
Waypoint Mobile Notary is responsible for properly performing the requested notarial act, not for determining whether the underlying document will be accepted for its intended purpose.
Waypoint Cancellation
If Waypoint Mobile Notary must cancel an appointment due to an emergency, unsafe travel conditions, or another circumstance beyond the client’s control, the client will be notified as soon as practical.
The appointment may be rescheduled at the earliest mutually convenient time. No cancellation fee will be charged when Waypoint Mobile Notary cancels the appointment.
